Senior Full Stack Developer
Tel Aviv

Kovrr is growing fast and looking for an experienced full stack engineer to join our platform team. Our innovative work combines cyber, finance and data science with unique UX to help companies put a price tag on their cyber risk exposure. Our platform is used by leading insurance, reinsurance and enterprises around the world, managing total exposed assets of billions of dollars, enabling them to make data-driven decisions to manage their risk.Your role will be in the intersection of Application Engineering, Financial Models and Cyber Data, driving our cyber risk quantification platform forward and  enabling us to deliver innovative and effective financial cyber exposure quantification solutions to a broad set of industries.

  • Be part of our platform team, taking part in building our platform development, improving scale and optimization to handle evaluation of millions of companies.
  • Lead decisions regarding our tech stack and architecture.
  • Engage with a strong development team, with background in backend and frontend development.

What are we looking for?

  • Exceptional understanding of web-based application architecture: DB, server, API and client
  • Strong understanding of other complex software systems architecture
  • Ability to lead other engineers to success
  • Amazing communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Passion of code quality and maintainability

What experience should you have?

  • 3 Years of experience in Python development.
  • 3 Years of frontend development experience, must have some experience with React
  • Experience in working in Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, etc).
  • Experience in building complex architectures.
  • Cyber security knowledge - an advantage.
  • BSc in a Quantitative field including Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other relevant field - an advantage.

As a Senior Data Analyst on our Cyber Risk Modeling team, you will work at the intersection of cyber data and financial modeling. You will be driving model designs, calibration and validation of our cutting-edge financial cyber quantification model, which combines Monte Carlo simulations and probabilistic modeling. Your work will help our clients make data-driven decisions and manage their cyber risks with confidence.Working in a startup requires a high level of versatility, but here is an outline of the expected responsibilities:

  • Build and run model calibration processes
  • Research and develop new model features
  • Manage and develop risk intelligence analysis
  • Provide quarterly reports on cyber trends
  • Analyze cyber risk model results for insights and model behaviors
  • Support model validation processes

Education and experience:

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex datasets and derive valuable insights.
  • Familiarity with data analysis using R, Python, SQL, Spark or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey data-driven findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Knowledge:

  • Cybersecurity concepts, including various cyber threat vectors and their potential impact on risk assessments.

Backend Engineer

As a Software Engineer on our Cyber Risk Modeling team, you will work at the intersection of cyber data, financial modeling, and production-grade software development. You will be responsible for driving the development of our cutting-edge financial cyber exposure quantification solution, which combines Monte Carlo simulations and probabilistic modeling. Your work will help our clients make data-driven decisions and manage their cyber risks with confidence.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with a diverse and inclusive team of Cyber and Data Science experts to build our modeling engines and develop and improve our modeling capabilities. This includes enhancing our modeling accuracy, as well as improving the production-grade stability and scalability of our models.
  • Lead decisions regarding our tech stack and architecture, applying your expertise in software engineering best practices and industry trends.
  • Develop services responsible for serving the cyber risk quantification capabilities to other products and partners, ensuring that our solution is easy to integrate and scalable.
  • Participate in agile development practices and code reviews, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and feedback.
  • Use your creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to complex problems and see your ideas move fast to our production environment.

What do you need?

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on Python development and associated frameworks (e.g., NumPy, scikit-learn, pandas).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and Cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS).
  • Experience in working with data and models, using statistical analysis and predictive modeling to solve business problems.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other relevant quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and predictive model design - an advantage
  • Experience in cybersecurity or cyber risk modeling is a big advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
