AISPM

AISPM is the acronym for AI security posture management, the practice of inventorying an organization's AI assets and continuously evaluating their configuration, permissions and data connections against policy.

The Acronym Follows a Familiar Pattern

AISPM takes its shape from CSPM for cloud and SSPM for SaaS, both of which describe the same activity applied to a different estate. An inventory is built, configurations are compared against a baseline, and deviations become findings. Vendors adopted the AI variant quickly, which means the acronym now appears on product pages describing fairly different capabilities. AI security posture management sets out what the category covers in full.

Three Letters, Several Product Categories

Some products marketed as AISPM concentrate on model and pipeline configuration for teams building their own systems. Others concentrate on discovering third-party AI use across a workforce. A third set focuses on agent inventory and permissions. Reading the acronym on a vendor site says little about which of those is being offered, so the question to ask is which estate the inventory covers.

Posture and Interaction Answer Different Questions

A posture figure describes how the estate is configured. Whether sensitive material actually moved, under which account and to which vendor, comes from interaction records rather than configuration state. Organizations that buy on the acronym alone frequently find they have a well-maintained inventory and no record of what happened inside it, which the AI Interaction Data Fabric exists to supply.
