Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM)

Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) is the ongoing, automated verification that security controls are configured, deployed, and operating as intended, replacing point-in-time control assessment with near real-time visibility.

Why CCM Replaced Periodic Assessment

Traditional control assessment ran on an audit calendar. Controls were tested at a specific moment. Between assessments, the actual control state could drift substantially without visibility. In fast-moving cloud and SaaS environments, that gap became untenable.

CCM addresses the gap by monitoring control state continuously, using integrations with the systems where controls are implemented rather than manual review.

What CCM Actually Measures

CCM covers technical control configuration (is MFA enabled, are logging pipelines running, is encryption in place), operational control execution (are patches being applied, are access reviews being completed), and increasingly, control effectiveness signals (are the controls actually catching what they should).

The output is a live view of control posture rather than a periodic snapshot.

CCM and CRQ

CCM feeds directly into cyber risk quantification. When control state changes, modeled exposure changes with it, so quantified reporting stays current instead of reflecting the state at last audit.

How Kovrr Approaches Continuous Controls Monitoring

Kovrr's Continuous Control Monitoring integrated with CRQ capability connects control-state telemetry directly to modeled exposure, so security and risk leaders see the financial consequence of control drift as it happens rather than at the next assessment cycle.
